My life as an Architecture Student

architectureMy greetings to all!
At present I am doing B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) and I am in second year. It has only been a few weeks since I started with my sophomore year and it is very hectic. Those who know about this course, know how much of a work load we have daily, according to me it is just in second position to medical course which is considered the most difficult subject and only the most intelligent of people can handle it.

There are a few who say it is just about designing and drawing, but oh how wrong they are. Even if you have to design something, you need to know the correct measurements of everything, the structure of each component you are about to introduce, the composition of the material you are going to use, the measurements of humans and so on. For example, when people are looking for houses, they often pass negative comments about it and share their views on how the layout could possibly have been better than what it already is. Some like a particular design and the others might hate that, it is very difficult for an architect to do their job efficiently.

When I tell people how boring it is at times to do architecture or how frustrating it can get, my pears or parents say, ‘Then why did you chose architecture in the first place?’

Dear all, people do get bored of their courses once in a while and there are times when they might hate their decisions, or question them…but who says that a subjects stays lively throughout our lives? The main reason why we study, is to gain knowledge and use it, the only reason we study is to sustain our lives with reasonable streams we chose for ourselves. I did not get a good (Famous) college to study in, but whatever I am doing, and wherever I am, I work hard and try to cross the obstacles in my path.

I am such a kind of person, who does not stick to a particular interest for much long, often I use my free time to read manga, stories, novels; watch movies, write my own novel and listen to music. I am very moody, when I get fed up of doing the same thing daily, I switch to writing, but then again, even writing gets boring and I switch to something different. At the moment, architecture is my favourite and just to chill out I am writting this blog.

We study everything, let it be economics, geography, physics, computers, history or even human psychology. We need to know everything…it sounds interesting right, but it is very difficult to handle everything in one go, which we have to do anyhow. Model making, ppt, presentations, book writing, research, we have to do everything.

In my year, some students are very cool, they bunk, they chill out and do not take stress at all, some of them are sincere, always doing the given assignment on time, while some are somewhere hanging in the middle. I am sincere, but I get depressed very easily if I don’t get enough marks or a professor doesn’t likes my work. Everyday is a new battle in my field, each day we are evaluated on the basis of our classwork and each day we are given to do something new. We do theory, practical and even give vivas. We cannot miss out on anything or else our whole career up ahead would get unbalanced. In my subject, each day is an experience we cannot forget, because each moment teaches us something new.

So I conclude, no matter how infuriating my subject can get, it always brings something new, intriguing and it feels great to work hard and get the desired result. So now that I have finished with my lecture, I need to go back to designing a layout for a railway station, very difficult, but interesting. I am an optimist and this life is a mystery I have yet to find an answer for.

See ya!

      1. Redeeming Luv Greetings to you, my Friend! I am so glad to hear that you are doing fine. And you know what, you will be doing better and better every time.
It is not luck you nee you to succeed you know. It is simply faith in God. A living God, who loves you and cares about your physical, mental, social and spiritual welfare.
He is a God you can trust, and even talk to when you need to talk to someone and no one is around. O, and when you have a problem, for example with the work load, He would love to make it lighter for you, or anyone who sincerely call upon Him.
When we pray we talk to Him. Actually, prayer is talking to God the Father through Christ our Lord. And when He answers our prayers it is not about luck, it is our heavenly Father. Think on these words I have shared with you. When you call upon Him, you may say heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for your love, mercy and grace towards me, and so on. Then make your request known to Him. And when He answers remember to write down the date. God bless.

        My best regards,

      2. Redeeming Luv Greetings to you, my Sister! It is so nice hearing from you again. And it is wonderful that you “have faith in God.” Faith in in God moves mountains of obstacles in one’s life. But you must exercise your faith in Christ to receive life everlasting. When you sincerely invite Christ in your heart to stay, He comes in and lives your life for Himself, once you allow Him to do so. That is what I did and still do.
When I gave my heart to Christ the Son of God, I prayed: Heavenly Father, in the name of JESUS, I am sorry for my sins, and I repent of my sins. Have mercy upon me and forgive me my sins. Come into my heart Christ Jesus, and save me. Wash all my sins away in your precious blood, fill me with your Spirit, and live my life for yourself. I surrender my all to you. Grant it Father in JESUS’ name. Amen.
This simple prayer will change your life completely, and give you a new start in Christ.Amen. God bless you.

      3. You are Welcome.
Here is a scripture verse to ponder on, it says, “For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”[John chapter 3, verse 16] You may commit this verse to memory. This is the extent to which God loves you. A blessed weekend and a prosperous New Year to you and your love ones, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Peace.
